About the transition to Foodworks Online

When will the new Foodworks Online be available for purchase?

The first release of the Foodworks Professional edition is planned for the later in 2021. There will be a gradual rollout of features and editions over 2021 and 2022.

What will be the benefits of using Foodworks Online?

There will be many benefits of using Foodworks Online, including the options to easily work remotely and use a Mac. More about the benefits of the cloud-based Foodworks.

What Foodworks Online editions are planned?

The following editions are planned:

• Foodworks Professional – For health care. Analyse your clients’ dietary intakes and track their progress over time. Develop nutritious recipes and meal plans.
• Foodworks Nutrition Labelling – For the food industry. Analyse new product formulations. Generate compliant labelling information for Australia and New Zealand.
• Foodworks Duo – Offers the features of both Foodworks Professional and Foodworks Nutrition Labelling.
• Foodworks Education – For tertiary and secondary courses in human nutrition, dietetics and food technology.
• Foodworks Research – For nutrition research studies.

Will Foodworks Online be the same as FoodWorks 10?

The  Foodworks Online user interface is an evolution from FoodWorks 10, so if you are a FoodWorks 10 user, you’ll find Foodworks Online familiar.

When should I make the switch to Foodworks Online?

When Foodworks Online is first released later in 2021, it will still be evolving – it may not be the edition you need, or it might not yet have all the features you need. There will be a gradual rollout of editions and features over time. You can make the switch to the new Foodworks as the edition and features you require become available.

How will I know when Foodworks Online is feature-ready for me?

You can evaluate the new Foodworks to ensure that it is feature-ready for you. As a current FoodWorks 10 subscriber, you will be able to access the new Foodworks as part of your subscription. A free trial will also be available to non-current customers.

I have a FoodWorks 10 subscription. Am I entitled to Foodworks Online when available?

Yes – while you have a current FoodWorks 10 subscription you will be able to access the equivalent edition of the new software for your current number of users. For example, if you have a two-user subscription to FoodWorks 10 Professional, you can sign up two users to the online Foodworks Professional at no additional cost.

What about my FoodWorks 10 data?

• When I make the switch to Foodworks Online will my data automatically transfer from my current FoodWorks 10 database?
  Your data will not automatically transfer from FoodWorks 10 to Foodworks Online. 
• Can I import my data from FoodWorks 10 to Foodworks Online?
  A tool to migrate your data from FoodWorks 10 to Foodworks Online is planned for a later release, however, in the first release of Foodworks Professional Online, there will not be a mechanism for importing your data from FoodWorks 10.
• If I start using Foodworks Online in parallel with FoodWorks 10, can I share data between them or work on the same database?
  No, there will not be a mechanism for sharing data or databases back and forth between FoodWorks 10 and Foodworks Online.

Can I keep using FoodWorks 10 for now?

Yes. We recommend that you keep using FoodWorks 10 until Foodworks Online meets your requirements.

How do I keep in touch with the edition/feature rollout?

We will send regular newsletters to our customers and to the mailing list. We will also provide news on our blog sites. We will also log changes on our Foodworks Online support site.

Can I provide feedback and let you know what’s important to me?

Will Foodworks Online Professional integrate with Easy Diet Diary?

Yes, Foodworks Online will integrate with our mobile app for iOS and Android, Easy Diet Diary. And the move online will make the integration way better! However, integration will not be included in the first release.

Will there be a free trial of Foodworks Online?

Yes, there will be a free trial of Foodworks Online.

I’ve been a loyal FoodWorks customer. Do I get a special deal on the new product?

Yes. All current FoodWorks 10 customers will get access to equivalent licenses of Foodworks Online (when their edition is available) at no additional charge for the duration of their subscription.

All current FoodWorks 10 customers with an MSP or subscription first purchased before 30 June 2021 are Gold Customers and will be offered advantaged pricing when making the transition.

I need FoodWorks now. Should I purchase FoodWorks 10 or wait for Foodworks online?

Go ahead and purchase (or re-subscribe to) FoodWorks 10 now.  When the edition/features you require become available in Foodworks Online, during your subscription you’ll be able to switch at no additional cost.
